Cachemyrrhe
Fragrance notes
Character
Cachemyrrhe opens with bergamot and peach brightening the resinous weight of saffron and incense. The fruit is present but restrained, allowing the spice to lead without turning sharp. Pink pepper and iris introduce a powdery texture that sits between the fresh opening and the heavier materials waiting underneath. Jasmine and rose add a floral layer that feels woven through the composition rather than sitting on top of it. Siam benzoin and vanilla bring a rounded sweetness that keeps the pepper from feeling too dry.
The base gathers patchouli, cinnamon, oakmoss, almond, amber, cumin, musk, and myrrh into a dense, earthy foundation. Cinnamon and cumin give the blend a warm, slightly pungent edge, while almond and amber soften the sharper corners. Oakmoss adds a damp, green depth that grounds the resinous myrrh. The overall impression is woody and balsamic, with a persistent warmth that suits a room filled with dry air and layered clothing.
The cumin and musk combination creates a specific animalic character that some will find distracting. It pulls the fragrance away from a clean resin profile and gives it a slightly unwashed quality that does not suit every skin type. The powdery iris and rose also compete with the heavier base, making the transition between layers feel uneven.
