Gardens of the Night Mists
Fragrance notes
Character
Gardens of the Night Mists opens with walnut and almond beside black currant. The nuts give a dry, rounded start while the fruit adds a tart edge. Mint and frangipani follow. The mint is cool and brief, the frangipani soft and creamy, and together they ease the opening into the heavier base. Tobacco and leather arrive with guaiac wood, chocolate, patchouli, vetiver, cedar, and oakmoss. White musk, musk, and benzoin sit underneath. The accord list reads woody, tobacco, nutty, sweet, leather, warm spicy, animalic, patchouli, chocolate, and fruity, and the blend stays on the sweet side of woody with a clear tobacco presence. The leather is present but not sharp. Chocolate and benzoin push the sweetness forward while patchouli and oakmoss add depth.
The fragrance suits a walk under tall trees when the air is warm enough for light layers but cool enough to feel the breeze. It also fits a room lit by a lamp with a book nearby and a window cracked open to the evening. The mint and frangipani keep the dense base from feeling flat, and the nuts in the top notes give it a grounded start before the heavier materials take over. Cedar and vetiver add a dry line through the middle, and the musks soften the edges without cleaning it up entirely. It stays close to its tobacco and wood core while the fruit and flowers move across the surface, changing the shape of the scent without changing its direction
