Ambrecuir
Fragrance notes
Character
Ambrecuir opens with butter, amber and saffron that feel rich and slightly oily on contact. The honey and suede in the heart soften the spice, while orris adds a powdery lift that keeps the blend from sitting too flat. Tobacco and cacao bring a dry, faintly bitter edge that balances the sweetness of tonka bean and Java vetiver oil. The scent stays near the body and does not push outward across a room, which suits a composition this dense. It holds its shape for a reasonable span before the heavier materials begin to settle, so the early impression remains clear while the wearer moves through a morning.
Beeswax and black amber lead the base, supported by ambergris, labdanum and musk that give the drydown a warm, animalic weight. Vanilla, Siam benzoin and opoponax add a resinous glow, while incense and juniper introduce a cool, slightly sharp contrast. Sandalwood smooths the texture, and the presence of hyrax and civet deepens the profile without turning sharp. The overall feel is balsamic, woody and sweet in equal measure, with a powdery finish that lingers on fabric. It fits a crisp, overcast afternoon when the air feels cool and the light stays low, wrapping the wearer in a thick, golden layer of resin and skin
