Our take

Flor de Lis opens with a brisk splash of sea water and bamboo leaf, lime and ivy sharpening the citrus into something almost metallic, like cold steel against wet greenery. Within minutes the aquatic chill softens into a watery floral bouquet: water jasmine and Azteca lily floating over green Anjou pear and honeydew melon, all of it suspended in ozonic air. The drydown turns powdery and pale, musk and heliotrope dusting the violet leaf and sandalwood into a faint, barely-there whisper of cedar.

The overall character is a sun-faded photograph of a coastal garden, all soft focus and washed-out pastels, where the flowers are more scent than substance. It feels fresh, clean, and deliberately light, leaning synthetic in the way that makes aquatic florals read as mainstream rather than niche. The low longevity (2.4) and whisper-thin sillage (2.1) are the biggest drawbacks; this is a fragrance that evaporates before making an impression. It suits anyone who wants a barely-there spritz for humid summer days, perfect for brunch by the sea or a morning in the office. Those who crave projection, depth, or a full day’s wear should skip it. You can reapply, but why fight a fragrance that runs away so eagerly? Wear it when the heat calls for nothing more than a ghost of flowers and salt.
