Our take

There’s something almost aggressively optimistic about Lavanda e Baunilha. It opens with a sharp, candied cherry and star anise that together jab at the nose before lavender swoops in to soften the blow. That lavender is less herbal than it should be – it’s been sweetened, polished, dressed up in pink. The heart wanders through a candy store: apple, plum, cherry blossom, all drenched in a sticky vanilla that feels synthetic in the way a wax melt does. And yet there’s a powdery cotton flower that tries to keep things clean, like a lace doily under a pile of jellybeans. The base is nothing but vanilla musk and those Transparent Woods, which is code for “we stopped trying to make this smell natural.” It’s a citrus gourmand, but the citrus is bergamot chased out of the room early.

The numbers don’t lie: longevity barely hits two and a half hours, and sillage is a whisper in a crowded elevator. You’ll need to reapply or drench yourself. This is a fairground perfume, the cloying scent of a candy apple stand in spring drizzle, when everything feels sticky and hopeful. It suits someone who wants to smell like a dessert but doesn’t mind disappearing after lunch. Skip it if you crave complexity or any whisper of earthiness. Wear it on a casual spring evening, a picnic, a first date where you plan to leave before the dry down ends. It’s not deep, it’s not nuanced – but does everything need to be? 🍬
