Our take

Rage Of The Ocean is a daytime companion for the person who wants the coast without the cliché. The opening hits with grapefruit and mandarin orange, bright and immediate, while ginger adds a clean heat that keeps the citrus from leaning sugary. Incense enters early and gives the fruit a dry, slightly resinous edge. That combination argues for a fragrance meant to be worn outdoors, where sun and air can move through it. Rose and cedar arrive in the heart, and the flower here is lean rather than lush, supported by wood that feels planed and smooth. It reads as a modern aquatic that chose aromatic spice over the usual watery sweetness, and the salt in the accords makes that choice stick.

The argument holds until the base, where driftwood and ambergris meet amber and the composition loses its earlier tension. Amber rounds the edges too much, pulling the scent toward a softness that contradicts the crisp opening and the salty air it promised. What began as a focused coastal aromatic ends up warmer and more generic than it needed to be. The materials are pleasant, but the final third lacks the distinct character that the first two thirds worked to build. It is a fragrance that starts with a clear point of view and then settles for being merely agreeable.
