Fakhar Extrait

Fakhar Extrait opens with a sharp, almost abrasive citrus burst, grapefruit and pink pepper scraping against each other while cardamom adds a dusty, aromatic warmth. It feels synthetic in the best way, like a neon sign flickering in a humid night market. The heart is where things get interesting: tuberose pushes through the spice, creamy and solar, but artemisia keeps it from tipping into sweetness, giving a dry, herbaceous edge. The base is a dense tangle of amber, leather, and cashmeran, labdanum gluing everything together into a resinous, animalic haze. This is not a clean scent. It smells like a leather jacket left overnight in a greenhouse full of white flowers, the morning dew mixing with worn hide and sticky sap.

Longevity is decent at just over medium, but sillage noticeably drops after the first hour, becoming a close skin scent rather than a room filler. That soft projection makes it a little frustrating for something called an extrait. This is best worn in fall or winter, when the warmth of the amber and the dark floral punch can wrap around you like a wool coat. It works for day or night, but leans slightly more convincing after sunset. It suits someone who wants a bold unisex floral that isn’t shy about its leathery, musky dirty side. Skip it if you prefer bright, airy florals or expect massive projection from your extraits. Is that too much to ask from a bottle this affordable? Maybe, but the character compensates.
