Raghba For Men
Fragrance notes
Character
It opens with a bright, almost jolting citrus burst of lemon and lemon verbena, but the iris that follows is what gives Raghba For Men its strange, powdery backbone. The violet leaf in the heart is barely a whisper, a green ghost that quickly succumbs to a base that feels like a thrift-store treasure chest: sandalwood gone slightly dusty, cedar that crackles dryly, and a leather note that smells more like an old vinyl car seat than a tanned hide. The ambergris tries to weave everything together with a salty, animalic warmth, but the composition never quite coheres. It is an Oriental Fougere that feels caught between a fresh aquatic and a heavy leather, resulting in a scent like a seaside boardwalk after a spring rain, all damp wood and salted air and the faintly synthetic sweetness of a forgotten carnival. The performance is the real letdown here. With longevity around three hours and sillage that barely reaches past an arm's length, this is a fragrance that asks you to respray constantly or simply accept its fleeting presence. It works best as a daytime companion for mild spring or summer outings, when you want a touch of something interesting without overwhelming anyone. But skip it if you crave density or longevity, because this one evaporates faster than a tourist's patience. Who is it for, really? Someone who likes the idea of a complex, retro-modern fougere but never wants to commit to the full ride.
