Our take

Ameer Al Oud 2 is for the person who wants a rose that refuses to be polite. Many floral woods try to soften the edges until the flower feels like background noise. This one keeps raspberry and rose pressed close together, letting the fruit push the petals into something vivid and slightly loud. Oud and musk sit underneath, giving the blend a dark, resinous floor that stops the sweetness from floating away. The opening is bright and immediate, but it is not the point of the fragrance.

The drydown is where the argument settles. Oud grows heavier here, wrapping around the rose until the flower loses its freshness and takes on a deep, almost syruped character. Musk smooths the wood so it never scratches, while raspberry lingers as a faint, sugary stain. The result feels like a room lit only by candlelight, where the air is thick with warm wood and fading petals. It is rich, slightly overwhelming, and completely unbothered by daytime manners.

The limitation is the narrowness of the mood. With oud, rose, fruity, sweet, and woody accords all pulling in the same direction, there is no freshness or lift anywhere in the blend. Anyone who finds heavy, sweet resins claustrophobic will struggle here. It offers one atmosphere and stays there, giving nothing to those who want contrast or air.
