Qasamat Rasana
Fragrance notes
Character
Qasamat Rasana opens with a crisp, almost tart bite of apple and citrus, a clean and bright start that feels like the first cool breeze of spring. But don’t let that freshness fool you. Within minutes, the heart turns dusky and dry, with cypriol oil bringing a smoky, earthy rootiness that mingles with a soft suede leather and a whisper of sandalwood. It settles into a base of musk, cedar, and amber, a warm, powdery woodiness where the oud is polite enough to stay in the background. The overall effect is like walking through a sunlit orchard at the edge of a forest, the air shifting from fruit to bark to damp soil.
This is an easy wearing woody oriental, leaning more natural than synthetic, with a polished mainstream feel that doesn’t try to shock. The longevity is moderate, about three to four hours before it becomes a skin scent, and sillage is polite rather than commanding. If you need a scent that announces itself from across the room, look elsewhere. But for what it lacks in projection, it makes up in versatility. It suits someone who wants a sophisticated, uncomplicated fragrance for daytime wear in warm weather, especially spring and summer. It works well in an office or a casual brunch, but would get lost at a loud nightclub or in deep winter. Those who prefer big, sweet gourmands or heavy ouds should probably skip it. For everyone else, it is a quiet, well balanced companion that asks nothing of you.
