The opening feels sharp and almost medicinal. Elemi and bergamot hit with a resinous bite that can catch the nose off guard. Orange blossom tries to soften the edges, but the first minutes lean more clinical than comforting.
Sunlight falls across a terrace where warm stone meets dry air. Immortelle brings a dense, honeyed herbal tone that sits heavy in the air. Galbanum adds a green snap that keeps the heart from turning fully sugary.
Vetiver and sandalwood ground the base with a creamy wood texture. Ambergris lends a salty warmth that pulls the whole composition toward skin. The blend stays aromatic and balsamic without ever feeling dark or nocturnal.
Christopher Gordon built a fragrance that demands patience. The initial harshness never fully disappears, and that resinous sting may bother those who prefer smooth, rounded florals. It is a beautiful study in contrast, but the sharp start remains its clear weakness.
