Oud Special
Fragrance notes
Character
Lavender opens Oud Special with a cool, herbal touch that immediately meets saffron. The spice brings a dry heat that keeps the lavender from feeling soft. Oud enters early and stays present through the entire wear, giving the fragrance a dark, resinous core that feels dense and slightly medicinal.
The heart continues with oud as the central material. It grows heavier and more woody here, supported by the same saffron warmth that appeared at the start. The transition is smooth rather than dramatic, and the composition feels focused on this single ingredient rather than a complex evolution.
Patchouli and honey form the base, adding an earthy, sweet weight that grounds the oud. Musk rounds out the lower register with a soft, skin-like texture. The honey is rich and thick, pushing the fragrance toward a sweet, resinous finish that some will find indulgent.
The honey and patchouli combination creates a dense sweetness that can feel heavy and slightly cloying. The powdery edge from the musk and lavender does not fully balance this richness. Wear this in cooler weather if you enjoy bold, sweet woods, but those who prefer dry, restrained compositions will likely find it overwhelming.
