Our take

Elena by AlRehab opens with a bright, candied litchi that feels less like the real fruit and more like the syrup from a canned cocktail. A soft pear and peach quickly join, blurring into a generic floral sweetness that never resolves into anything distinct. The white musk base is clean and powdery, rounding the edges into a pleasant but forgettable hum. The whole thing lands somewhere between a body spray and a budget-friendly fruity floral, with sillage that stays close to the skin after the first hour and longevity that fades into a ghostly whisper by lunch. It smells like a rinsed-out bottle of shampoo left in a sunny bathroom — clean, sweet, and slightly aquatic, but devoid of any real character or daring.

This is a fragrance for someone who wants to smell nice without thinking about it, who wants a single note of “pleasant” that won’t intrude on meetings or annoy a coworker. The numbers back that up: a mediocre 3.22 on sillage and 3.58 on longevity mean you’ll need to reapply if you want anyone to notice beyond a polite hello. It works in all seasons, which is generous, but wearing it in deep winter feels like wearing sandals in snow — technically possible, but why bother? Spring and summer are its natural habitat, especially for daytime errands or a casual lunch. Skip it if you want complexity, projection, or anything that doesn’t smell like a fragrance counter’s lost sample. Elena is fine. Fine is its entire ambition.
