New Orleans Soul is built for the man who refuses to separate tropical ease from serious woods. The opening arrives with mango, pineapple, papaya, tangerine, and plum, bright and juicy, but cypress steps in immediately to keep the fruit from becoming a simple candy bowl. It is a sunny start that already hints at the forest floor.
That green sharpness leads directly into oud, saffron, sandalwood, and nutmeg. The heart feels warm and slightly animalic, with saffron lending a leathery glow to the resinous wood. Sandalwood rounds the edges while nutmeg adds a gentle bite, making the transition from fruit to forest feel intentional rather than forced.
Cedar and labdanum anchor the base with a musky, resinous weight. The labdanum amplifies the sweetness of the earlier fruit, while cedar provides a dry, structural finish. The overall accord stays tropical and sweet, yet the persistent woody and animalic threads keep it masculine and grounded rather than playful.
