Il Bianco e Nero opens with davana and pear. The davana brings a fruity, slightly herbal sweetness that feels rounded rather than sharp. Pear adds a crisp, pale fruit tone that lifts the opening without making it bright. The first impression is soft and slightly resinous, with the davana leading and the pear supporting it from behind.
Cloves, rose, and elemi form the heart. Cloves introduce a dry, warm spice that sits close to the skin and steadies the fruit from the top. Rose appears in a muted, powdery form and does not dominate the blend. Elemi adds a clean, faintly lemon-like resinous touch that keeps the heart from feeling heavy. Labdanum, patchouli, benzoin, and oud follow in the base. Labdanum and benzoin create a thick, golden amber that feels smooth and slightly sticky. Patchouli adds an earthy, dark depth. Oud arrives as a dry, woody resin that grounds the entire composition.
The overall character is amber, warm spicy, balsamic, woody, rose, patchouli, aromatic, musky, oud, and green. The blend feels dense and suited to evening wear. The one limitation is that the pear and davana fade too quickly, leaving the spice and amber to carry most of the weight alone.
