Merigge opens with a sharp, cooling bite of mint and lemon that feels brisk rather than juicy. The petitgrain adds a leafy, slightly bitter edge to the mandarin orange, while hyacinth brings a crisp green snap. This introduction is bright and energetic, but the mint can feel a touch thin and medicinal if the air around you is warm, leaning into a sharpness that lacks roundness.
The heart settles into lily-of-the-valley and citrus blossom, supported by a soft peach that keeps the florals from turning soapy. Jasmine adds a creamy weight, and elemi introduces a faint resinous lift that stops the middle from becoming too delicate. The transition is smooth, though the peach reads more like a suggestion than a true fruit note, leaving the center feeling a little restrained.
White musk and violet anchor the base with a powdery, clean finish. Amber adds a gentle warmth that never becomes heavy, and moss provides a damp, earthy whisper that grounds the brightness above. The overall impression is fresh, aromatic, and neatly balanced between citrus and white floral, though the powdery drydown may feel too traditional for those who prefer modern, transparent woods.
The mint and lemon remain the most distinct elements throughout the wear, but the composition does not evolve much after the first hour.
