Instinct opens with a sharp bite of raspberry that meets saffron and thyme, the fruitiness cut immediately by the dry scratch of cypress and the cool press of suede. Leather appears early and stays, not as a costume but as the backbone of the entire structure, with lavender and Italian orange adding a brief lift before the heavier materials take hold. The heart deepens that leather with frankincense and orris, the smoke and powder wrapping around jasmine and rose without letting the flowers soften the edges. Pear adds a fleeting juiciness that disappears into ambrette and jasmine sambac, leaving a resinous, aromatic density that feels deliberate and unapologetic.
The base gathers amber, vanilla, and musk beneath the leather, vetiver, and oud, the sweetness present but buried under wood and earth. Virginia cedar and patchouli push the scent toward a forest floor that has been paved over with warm skin and expensive material, the moss pulling it back from smelling like a bakery. This is a fragrance for a narrow street at night when the air is cold enough to make the warmth of the scent feel necessary, the kind of composition that expects you to be comfortable in a heavy coat and darker colors, the leather and spice creating a perimeter around the wearer that invites no one to come closer unless they already know
