Our take

Rain Water smells like the moment right after a storm breaks and the air turns cool and damp. Mandarin orange and grapefruit lead first, bright and sharp, with green leaves adding a crushed-stem freshness. Black currant and lemon keep the opening tart rather than sweet, so the entrance feels clean and brisk. It moves quickly through this phase, though, and the real character sits deeper.

Cashmere wood and sage steady the heart, wrapping the remaining citrus in something soft and herbal. Raspberry appears here but stays muted, adding a faint juiciness instead of turning the blend fruity. Musk begins to build, creating a smooth bridge toward the base. Copaiba balm and amber bring a gentle resinous warmth, while vetiver and patchouli ground the composition with an earthy, slightly dirty edge. The drydown is the strongest part of the wear, where the balsamic wood and soil-like depth finally take over and the citrus steps back completely.

The problem is the raspberry note. It never fully integrates and creates a slight artificial sharpness that clashes with the natural earthiness of the vetiver and patchouli. That synthetic edge distracts from the beautiful resinous base and keeps the fragrance from feeling cohesive. It suits a damp garden path or a cool morning walk, but the fruity discord will bother anyone who prefers their woody scents completely unadorned.
