Our take

Lapidus Pour Homme Sport opens with a sprig of rosemary and basil, sharp and herbal, cut by the citrus jolt of bergamot. That aromatic clarity never quite settles into anything soft; the heart pushes geranium and orange blossom through a gauze of sea notes, turning floral and briny at once. A pinch of nutmeg adds a warm, almost dusty spice, but the whole thing feels strangely synthetic, like a cologne assembled from a mood board rather than a coastline. As it dries down, incense and leather emerge from the base, but they’re thin, competing with patchouli and cedar for attention. The effect is a woody aquatic that tries to be both smoky and breezy and ends up a bit disjointed, like a sun-warmed cedar plank on a rocky shore just after a wave retreats. It’s fresh and aromatic in theory, but the longevity is a problem at 3.53 out of five, and the sillage drifts off before you’ve made your point. Perfect for a spring afternoon at a café or a casual day at the market, but anyone expecting a true sport fragrance with staying power should look elsewhere. Who is this really for. The guy who wants a light, herbal marine scent that won’t outlast his lunch. It’s fine for the moment, just don’t ask it to carry into evening.
