Character
You stand on a wooden dock where damp planks meet the edge of a slow river. Birch and black musk drift through the air like smoke from a small fire built too close to the water, while bitter orange and tomato leaf catch in the breeze that moves across the surface. Peony and rose soften the sharper edges without turning the scene gentle, and the steam accord makes the whole atmosphere feel humid and close. It is aquatic in the way mist clings to skin, leather in the way a worn jacket holds the day's heat, and green in the way crushed stems release their scent when brushed against a sleeve. The fresh spicy accord keeps the air active, never flat, as if the wind itself carries a faint bite that wakes the senses each time it passes.
The light sits low over the water and the smoke begins to mingle with the citrus and petals hanging in the damp air, pulled along by the same current that moves the leaves near your feet. Tomato leaf and birch keep the sweetness of the flowers anchored to something earthy and dry, while the black musk deepens the shadows gathering at the edge of the dock. Steam and rose rise together in a brief swirl before the breeze takes them elsewhere, and the aromatic accord lingers in the space between breaths as the surface of the river continues to shift under a sky that has not yet decided what the evening will bring.
