Our take

Tassoni 225 opens with a bright surge of citron, mandarin orange, bergamot, and lemon. The citrus is sharp and immediate, giving the fragrance a clean, sunlit character that feels active and awake. It does not lean into sweetness or candy-like tones. The opening is direct and uncomplicated, presenting the fruit in a way that feels natural rather than polished.

As the initial brightness settles, lilac and iris bring a soft floral layer that sits comfortably against the remaining citrus. Cedar adds a dry, woody line through the middle, while thyme and basil introduce an herbal edge. The combination feels balanced, with the green and aromatic elements keeping the florals from becoming too gentle. Nothing here dominates for long, and the transitions feel smooth rather than dramatic.

The base rests on olive tree and moss, lending a dry, slightly earthy finish to the composition. The moss pulls the scent toward a shaded, outdoor feeling, while the olive wood keeps the dryness consistent with the cedar from earlier. The fresh spicy accord lingers in the background, supporting the greenery without pushing forward. The overall impression is cohesive and steady from top to bottom.

The herbal side can become a little one-dimensional if the lilac and iris do not project clearly on a given wearing. When that happens, the thyme and basil take over completely, and the fragrance loses some of its nuance. It remains pleasant, but the promised balance between flower and herb slips away, leaving a simpler profile than the opening suggests.
