A stone courtyard in Montreal sits quiet under a pale sky. Lime and mint cut through the damp air first, sharp and cool against the skin. Green tea follows, its leafy bitterness keeping the citrus from turning sweet. The opening feels like a deep breath taken in the morning, clean and unassuming, with the herbs grounding the bright sparks of fruit before they can drift away.
Blue lotus and magnolia begin to rise as the air settles. The lotus brings a watery, slightly powdery petal tone that floats above the sharper greens. Magnolia adds a creamy weight, softening the edges of the mint that still lingers near the surface. This heart is not a loud bouquet. It moves like steam over still water, the flowers blending into a single hazy impression of white petals and humid air.
Ambrette takes over with a warm, nutty musk that wraps around the fading florals. It smells of skin and clean linen, pulling the magnolia closer to the body. Incense enters slowly, its gray smoke curling through the musk without overwhelming the space. The smoke is dry and resinous, meeting the last traces of green tea to create a scent that feels ancient and modern at once, like stone walls covered in climbing vines.
