Our take

Laguna Sunrise is for the man who wants a forest walk in a bottle and does not mind a little sweetness tagging along. The opening pairs lily-of-the-valley with pepper and pine, which sounds like a contradiction until the air hits your skin. It is green and bright, then the pepper bites just enough to keep the flowers from floating away. Musk sits underneath from the first spray, so the start never feels thin or purely decorative.

Sandalwood and cedar take over the middle, joined by rosemary and a soft jasmine that stays in the background. The wood here is creamy rather than dry, and the rosemary adds a clean, herbal edge that prevents the white florals from dominating. Guaiac wood in the base deepens the picture, while the raisin note gives the whole composition a dark, jammy warmth that some will love and others will find odd.

The powdery accord is the limitation. It softens the sharper edges of the pine and pepper until the fragrance feels a bit safe. Anyone who wants a bold, rugged forest scent may find this too polished and slightly too sweet once the raisin settles in.
