The dry down is where Republic of Men becomes a furniture showroom floor, all Virginia cedar polished to a sheen, musky sandalwood, and a puff of powder that clings to the wrist like sawdust after a round of sanding. The overall character is a freshly pressed linen shirt that has been spritzed with sweet tea and hung in a cedar closet, pleasant but never quite surprising. It feels synthetic in the way a mall fragrance should, competent but not ambitious, and the numbers back that up: moderate longevity and soft sillage mean it fades gracefully from a conversation about two hours in.
