Our take

Morning Jasmine opens with a bright mix of raspberry leaf, pear, and bergamot. The fruit is crisp and slightly tart, giving the entrance a clean energy that feels appropriate for a sunny room or a walk outside during the day. The pear adds a soft roundness while the bergamot keeps the top from leaning too heavy.

The heart brings gardenia, rose, and plum forward. The gardenia carries a creamy, lactonic quality that blends closely with the rose, which stays fresh rather than powdery here. Plum deepens the floral center with a sweet, dark fruit tone that prevents the flowers from floating too lightly. Vanilla orchid in the base wraps the florals in a warm, sweet layer, while patchouli adds an earthy edge and cedar provides a dry, woody foundation that grounds the sweeter elements.

David Apel composed this fragrance for Banana Republic, and the structure moves steadily from fruit to flower to wood without sharp breaks. The sweet accords stay present throughout, supported by the white floral and rose notes that dominate the middle. Warm spicy and powdery touches sit in the background, giving the blend a gentle complexity that does not overwhelm the main path from raspberry leaf to vanilla orchid and cedar, with patchouli threading through the final stage
