Coach the Fragrance opens with a perky fizz of pink pepper and the tart, almost metallic snap of raspberry leaf, while a soft pear note adds a sugared juiciness that feels engineered to please. It is a very intentional crowd pleaser, and in its early moments it gets away with it. The heart blooms into a powdery Turkish rose and gardenia that lean heavily on the clean, white floral side of a department store counter, with cyclamen adding a watery crispness. Then the suede and cashmeran come in, softening everything into a familiar musky, woody haze that borders on fuzzy.
