Our take

The opening is a paradox: saffron and cumin throw off a sharp, almost sweaty warmth, while linen and clary sage insist on clean, starched restraint. It smells like a freshly pressed shirt worn to a bar where the air is thick with leather and spilled coffee. The heart shifts into violet and jasmine, powdery and floral, but with a rough edge of leather that feels more like a worn jacket than a luxury handbag. As it dries down, birch and papyrus smoke quietly over vetiver’s green bitterness, with tonka softening the edges just slightly.

The overall character is that of a Polaroid left in a coat pocket for a year: smudged, intimate, a little haunting. This is not a loud fragrance, and the numbers back that up. Longevity is moderate, sillage is noticeably shy, barely reaching past a handshake. It stays close, a scent for yourself rather than a room. The woody, animalic, powdery blend feels niche in its refusal to pander, and the cumin adds a sour twitch that will either fascinate or repel.

It suits the person who likes their fragrance to ask a question, not give an answer. Best worn on a cold November afternoon or a damp spring evening, when the leather and smoke can lean into the chill without competing. Skip it if you want projection or a sweet hug. This one is a half-lit hallway, not a dance floor.
