Our take

Fleur de Peau opens with a spritz of mandarin that’s tart enough to cut through the usual iris haze, but the citrus fades fast, leaving you in a powdery embrace of ylang ylang and violet. The leather creeps in slowly, not as a raw hide but as a well-softened glove lined with amber and a whisper of animalic warmth. What emerges is an iris that feels plush, almost velvety, like the inside of a vintage powder compact found in a grandmother’s coat pocket. The drydown settles into a sweet woody amber, but there’s a faint sourness from the leather that keeps it from becoming too saccharine.

This is a decidedly niche scent: quiet, intimate, and a little old-fashioned in the best way. Its strength, however, is also its weakness. The sillage sits close to the skin and longevity hovers around four to five hours, so don’t expect a room-filler. You’ll need to reapply or press your nose to your wrist. It feels heavy but not cloying, more like a cashmere scarf than a fur coat.

Fleur de Peau suits someone who loves classic feminine florals but wants a shadow of leather to ground them. Skip it if you crave projection or bright, modern freshness. Wear it for a cool autumn evening, a dinner where you lean in to talk, or a cozy winter day indoors. It’s not a statement, just a whisper that lingers where it lands.
