Our take

Lince by Tiziana Terenzi opens with a jolt of absinthe and star anise, green and herbal, as if someone has crushed fresh fennel stalks into a glass of chilled green tea. The citrus rinds — bergamot, orange, grapefruit — flicker briefly before the heart settles into a soft, powdered iris and creamy orange blossom, with fig adding a faint, milky sweetness. The drydown is all vanilla bean and heliotrope, warm and slightly almondy, cushioned by sandalwood and a clean musk that keeps the whole thing from tipping into syrupy territory.

This is a fragrance that feels like a cashmere sweater left in a drawer with a sachet of anise tea and dried flowers: soft, powdery, gently sweet without being cloying. The anisic top gives it a distinct, slightly medicinal edge that some will love and others will find too sharp, a kind of licorice-tinted nostalgia. It wears close to the skin; with moderate longevity and sillage, it’s more of a personal scent than a room-filler. That makes it a natural choice for daytime in spring or autumn, when the air is cool enough to catch those vanilla and heliotrope whispers without being overwhelmed. It suits someone who prefers subtle elegance over bombast — if you want a vanilla that doesn’t scream dessert or a floral that doesn’t shout, this one slips in like a ghost. Skip it if you crave projection or a more fully developed, complex arc; the middle notes collapse into the base rather quickly, and the green tea barely registers after ten minutes.
