Our take

Close Your Eyes, And... is a pear that has read too many romantic novels and decides to play dress up in its mother’s powder room. It opens with a bright, almost candied burst of lemon and mandarin, quickly flattened by a thick almond paste and heliotrope that smells like a sachet shoved in a drawer of vintage linens. The pear is there but it’s the canned kind, syrupy and resigned, soon drifting into a quiet, woody vanilla cushion from guaiac wood. The rose and jasmine are barely whispers, more like perfume ghosts than actual flowers.

This is a shy scent, a cardigan of a fragrance. It stays close to the skin with a sillage of 2.65, and longevity just over three hours, so plan on reapplying if you want it to last past lunch. It feels soft, powdery, and sweetly nutty, leaning natural in its almond accord but undeniably cozy and synthetic in that comforting, nostalgic way. Best in the cool air of fall and spring, and most at home during the day, when its gentle sweetness feels like a secret, not a statement. Wear it when you want to feel like a 1940s librarian on a picnic with a flask of pear brandy. Skip it if you crave projection or anything that bites back, this one only closes its eyes and whispers.
