Our take

Ultra Glam opens with a sharp, almost medicinal crack of star anise that immediately softens into a citrusy grapefruit fizz, like biting into a bergamot-infused sugar cube. Within minutes, the helium-sweet heliotrope and a powdery jasmine step in, smoothing the edges into a plush, white-floral vanilla cloud. The base is where this fragrance lives: a dense, buttery praline and vanille accord, dusted with sandalwood and benzoin, but it never gets heavy or syrupy. Instead, it feels like a cashmere throw that has been lightly sprayed with a gourmand vanilla air freshener – cozy, a little synthetic, but undeniably comforting.

The problem is projection. With a sillage rating of 2.57 and longevity barely hitting 2.65 out of five, Ultra Glam fades to a skin scent within two hours. It’s a whisper, not a shout, and that might frustrate those who want their perfume to announce them from across the room. Yet for the price and the genre, this intimacy works. It’s a mainstream oriental vanilla that leans powdery and soft-spicy, ideal for winter days when you want to smell like a glazed pastry without offending anyone’s commute.

Who should wear it? The woman who wants a low-effort, sweet vanilla that stays close and never demands attention. Skip it if you crave projection or complexity – this is a one-note gourmand with a polite aura. Wear it to a cozy brunch, a solo afternoon of errands, or tucked under a wool scarf on a gray morning. Is that really a flaw when the scent itself is so unapologetically pleasant?
