Pecan and cardamom lead the first impression, brightened by the tart crunch of quince. It is a warm and nutty entrance that feels polished rather than overwhelming. The spice is present from the start, but the fruit keeps it lively and prevents the opening from feeling too heavy or dense.
Clove and vetiver take over the center with a dry, aromatic edge. The rose here is not fresh and dewy, but a dark floral presence that blends into the unusual softness of the velvet note. It creates a texture that feels plush against the sharper spices, moving the composition into a more complex and layered space.
The drydown is where the fragrance fully settles into its identity. White oud and benzoin provide a resinous, amber-rich foundation that feels luxurious and deep. Tonka bean and vanilla smooth out the sharper edges, while musk adds a gentle warmth that surrounds the wood. It is a rich, sweet, and woody finish that captures a formal evening mood perfectly.
The limitation is that the quince and pecan can feel a bit synthetic to a trained nose, lacking the natural depth found in the base resins. It is a beautiful composition for cool nights, but those who demand photorealistic fruit and nut accords might find this aspect slightly disappointing.
