Medusa Oud

The dim lounge smells of polished wood and old leather. A glass of dark rum sits on the table, its boozy vapor rising into the air. That same spirited opening greets the nose here, sharp and intoxicating at first. It does not stay sharp for long. The room soon fills with the creamy weight of coconut and the rich, bitter dust of cacao. Sandalwood grounds the mix, its pale grain smoothing the edges of the rum, while vetiver adds a clean, earthy thread that keeps the air from feeling too heavy.

As the evening settles, the vanilla deepens. It wraps around the remaining coconut, turning the air soft and powdery. Oakmoss creeps in from the base, its damp, forest floor character pulling the sweet notes down into the shadows. The cacao remains, but it loses its sugar, becoming a dark bean scent that mingles with the sandalwood. The rum is gone now, replaced by a woody, aromatic haze that feels warm against the skin.

The vanilla and oakmoss continue to intertwine, the sweetness fighting a quiet battle with the mossy dampness. It is a thick, aromatic cloud that sits in the corner of the room, the cacao and sandalwood refusing to let the vanilla take full control, the powdery air hanging heavy over the furniture
