Our take

VOODOO opens with a sharp, almost illicit crack of lime and pink pepper, that green galbanum twisting through like a snake charmer’s promise. Cardamom adds a warm, powdery bite before the heart takes over: olibanum’s resinous smoke curls around Turkish rose, that bloom not dewy but dried, incense-choked, while geranium adds a herbal sting. The base is where this thing settles into its true skin: oud that feels fermented and leathery, patchouli’s dark earth, sandalwood’s creamy anchor. It’s a heavy, brooding fragrance, but surprisingly not sweaty or cloying thanks to that aromatic spice thread.

Think of an abandoned voodoo altar deep in a winter forest, rose petals scattered over charred sandalwood, leather straps hanging from a weathered tree. That’s the image this conjures. It leans natural in its rawness, but with a noticeable synthetic edge in the high-pitched pepper that keeps it from feeling like a dusty relic. The longevity is solid at nearly four on the scale, but the sillage sits closer to moderate, which actually suits its intensity, you don’t want this shouting. It’s a niche scent for those who love darkness without apology, who wear oud and leather like a second skin.

Best in winter and fall, absolutely at night. Spring can work if you survive the open. Skip if you crave freshness or crowd-pleasing gentleness. Who needs a feather when you can have a thunderstorm?
