Our take

PLUSH opens with a surprising crunch of galbanum and clove, a green and aromatic slap that almost feels medicinal before almond’s sweetness softens the edges. The heart is where this fragrance really lives: jasmine and orange blossom bloom with a lush, almost humid white floral intensity, while iris powders everything over like vintage face powder scattered on a velvet cushion. The base settles into a warm, slightly animalic musk, ambergris adding a salty shimmer and vanilla smoothing it into something cosseting and skin-deep.

The overall character is a plush armchair in a conservatory at dusk — velvety, dusty, and just slightly feral. It leans synthetic in the opening (that galbanum has a razor edge) but grows more natural as the florals and musk meld. This is niche through and through, unapologetically complex, and far from a crowd-pleaser. It’s sweet but not cloying, balsamic and powdery with a whisper of skin.

But let’s be honest: a sillage rating barely scraping 3/5 and longevity around 3.5/5 means PLUSH is a close-hugger that fades before the evening’s first glass of wine. It works best for those who prefer quiet intimacy over projection — a fragrance for spring and fall days (and surprisingly solid for winter nights), ideal for an afternoon museum visit or a moody lunch date. Skip it if you want to be smelled across the room or need an all-day performer. This one is for the person who dresses in layers and doesn’t mind reapplying.
