Brutal Classic Intense
Fragrance notes
Character
You crack open Brutal Classic Intense and immediately get a slap of lavender and sharp citrus, like a lawnmower just chewed through a field of wild grass on a cool morning. The cloves arrive quickly, rough and peppery, tangled with geranium and a whisper of jasmine that keeps things from turning too brutish. This is an aromatic fougere with a temper.
Then the base settles in. Oakmoss, vetiver, and a dense pile of woods and patchouli smother the florals into a dark, earthy blanket. The amber and musk add a bit of warmth, but this is not a sweet thing. Wearing it feels like pulling on a stiff canvas jacket that still smells of the pine forest where it was stored all winter. The longevity is average, around six hours, and the sillage sits close, a private cloud rather than a shout. That is its one real shortcoming: it could project harder for a fragrance called Intense.
It suits someone who wants a classic structure with a spicy kick and doesn't need to announce himself from across the room. Skip it if you hate cloves or prefer airy, synthetic freshness. This is for spring afternoons, crisp fall walks, and any day you want a grounded, no-nonsense presence. It wears best from morning until early evening, and it will not apologize for being a little rough around the edges.
