Our take

Dublin opens with a brisk cinnamon, sharp and baked into the sweetness of blood orange and tangerine that never quite turn sour. The citrus here is more a shimmer on the spice than a sunburst. Within minutes, tobacco leaf and myrrh fold in, dark and slightly sticky, with the myrrh lending a churchy resin that keeps the sweetness grounded. The base is classic Tonka-patchouli, but the patchouli is brushed clean, more woody than earthy, and the tonka pumps in a vanilla-almond warmth that lingers well into the second half of a long evening. Longevity sits strong at four point one, and sillage hovers comfortably at a steady arm’s length, never demanding attention but present enough to leave a trail in a closed room.

The overall character feels like a leather armchair in a wood-paneled pub, the year is 1972, and someone has just stubbed out a clove cigarette in an ashtray lined with dried orange peel. It is a warm, balsamic Oriental Woody, leaning sweet but not syrupy, with a synthetic smoothness that pulls it toward the designer side of niche. The cinnamon and tobacco could easily tip into potpourri, but the myrrh and patchouli keep it smoky and dark enough to avoid a cloying bake.

This is a cold weather scent through and through, nearly ninety eight percent night wear, so skip it for summer days or any occasion where you want to feel light. It suits a man who dresses deliberately, who wants to smell expensive without shouting, and who understands that a fragrance should match the weight of the evening. Anyone looking for a fresh, all-purpose reach should stay away. Dublin is a mood, not a utility. 🍂
