The courtyard is quiet after the restaurants close. A glass of dark rum rests on the iron table, and the air carries a warm, herbal weight. Basil and lemon arrive first, bright and brief, with chamomile lending a soft, slightly dusty edge. Labdanum pulls the opening toward something resinous and thick. It is not a crisp entrance. The herbs feel rubbed between fingers, oily and close, while the citrus sits lightly on top before stepping aside.
Violet leaf brings a cool, watery green tone that cuts the initial density. Cedar adds a dry, polished wood, and saffron turns the air faintly metallic and warm. Plum and fig sit together, round and dark, while thyme weaves through with a sharp, kitchen herbal note. The heart feels layered rather than blended, each element distinct against the others. The green freshness of the violet leaf keeps the fruit from feeling heavy, and the cedar gives the middle a firm, dry spine.
Leather slowly takes over, smooth and rich, supported by frankincense that smells like warm resin on stone. Rum returns here, deeper now, mingling with truffle that adds an earthy, slightly dirty softness. Vanilla and amber wrap the base in a golden, low light, while vetiver grounds everything with a clean, rooty bitterness. The drydown is where the fragrance settles into its true shape. The animalic accord hums quietly beneath the amber, giving the skin a warm, slightly wild character that feels intentional and unwashed.
The leather and truffle linger near the amber, and the frankincense continues to release a slow, dry smoke against the sweetness of the vanilla.
