Fig opens the composition with a plump, syrupy darkness. The black currant and hazelnut feel dense and almost sticky, while the bergamot slices through that weight with a sharp, green citrus edge. There is a damp, crushed-leaf quality to the opening that keeps the fruit from reading like candy.
Iris arrives in the heart with a powdery, root-like dryness. It bridges the gap between the sweet top and the heavy base, lending a refined, slightly cosmetic floral touch. The leather then enters with a pronounced animalic growl, supported by the resinous warmth of labdanum. Smoky tendrils rise from the oud, which feels dark and polished rather than medicinal.
Vetiver grounds the final stages with an earthy, bitter freshness that cuts the sweetness of the resin. The overall impression is of walking through a dim, wood-paneled room where a fire has recently burned out, leaving behind the scent of scorched wood and expensive leather furniture. The hazelnut lingers in the background, adding a strange, nutty softness to the rugged materials.
