Our take

Hamdan by Al Battash Luxury contains a lot of moving parts, and the blend does not always hold them together cleanly. The saffron and nutmeg sit heavily against the basil and juniper, creating a friction that can feel muddled rather than complex. It is an oriental fougere that tries to cover a wide ground, but the result is occasionally cluttered, with the amber and tonka bean fighting for space alongside the sharper pink pepper and cardamom.

The woody and aromatic accords form the backbone here, supported by cedar, sandalwood, vetiver, and patchouli. Leather and oud add a deep, resinous weight, while myrrh and incense push the balsamic profile forward. The citrus from bergamot and lemon is present but quickly absorbed by the earthy oakmoss and musk. It feels substantial and warm, suited to a quiet street at night when the air is cool and the sky is dark.

This density is also where the composition struggles, as the powdery elements sometimes veil the brighter spices instead of letting them breathe. The sheer number of notes makes it difficult for any single facet to stand out clearly. Hamdan remains a dense, spicy mixture that can overwhelm the nose, leaving the wearer wishing for more clarity among the many ingredients.
