Our take

Vanille Insensée opens on lime and citron together, two different citrus faces, sharp and a little bitter, with coriander threading a dry, seedy spice through both of them. Vetiver and oak moss move in fast, giving the heart an earthy, almost damp-wood quality well before jasmine adds any real florality. By the base, vanilla arrives not as sweetness but as a rounder, ambered warmth sitting next to raw oak, closer to damp wood than sugar.

Staying power lands just on the sturdier side of average, present without asking for much upkeep. Sillage keeps a small, warm radius, the kind of scent that surfaces when someone gets close enough to catch the oak and amber underneath.

Fall and winter bring out the best in this, the earthy vetiver and warm vanilla reading as a cold-weather pairing, while summer offers a much quieter version of the same scent. Vanille Insensée is built for anyone who finds classic vanilla too sweet, dry and mossy enough to wear like a piece of clothing rather than a fragrance, citrus at the top the only real reminder that this started out fresh.
