Our take

Marrakech opens with a bright lift from grapefruit and rose geranium, tempered by the dry heat of coriander and nutmeg. Amber sits in the top layer here, giving the first minutes a resinous warmth that usually appears much later in a composition. The spices do not bite. They circle the citrus and the floral note without overwhelming either one, creating a start that feels both fresh and firmly grounded in heat.

The heart deepens the spice profile with black pepper and cardamom, while saffron adds a leathery, slightly metallic edge. Nagarmotha and patchouli bring an earthy density that pairs with the subdued bitterness of myrrh. This section moves the fragrance away from brightness and into a heavier, more layered space where the aromatic and fresh spicy accords meet the warm spicy core. The transition feels steady rather than dramatic.

Guaiac wood and sandalwood form a smooth, dry foundation beneath the returning patchouli. Labdanum, benzoin, and vanilla add a balsamic sweetness that balances the woody dryness, while oud contributes a dark, resinous depth. The powdery accord softens the sharper edges of the woods and spices. The result is a dense, resin-heavy blend built around amber, oud, and vanilla.
