Our take

Sweet orange leads the way, bright and juicy enough to catch attention immediately. It does not stay sharp for long. The heart brings coconut and vanilla forward, smooth and creamy against the dry grain of palisander rosewood. That wood keeps the sweetness from becoming flat, giving the center of the fragrance a polished, slightly resinous feel.

The base is where the composition settles into its true character. Patchouli and moss add an earthy depth that grounds the vanilla, while cedar and sandalwood provide a dry, polished woodiness. Tonka bean rounds out the edges with a soft, warm spice. It feels composed for a quiet street after the sun has gone, when the air is cool and the lights from windows glow against dark brick.

The overall impression is woody and balsamic, with a powdery finish that sits close rather than demanding space. It suits someone who enjoys gourmand touches but wants the earthiness of patchouli and moss to keep the scent mature. Those who dislike heavy vanilla or prominent coconut will find it too indulgent for their taste.

Frederic Burtin composed a blend that feels like standing near a carved wooden table where a bowl of citrus sits beside a half-opened jar of vanilla resin.
