The citrus is clean rather than sharp, giving the entrance a friendly character that does not demand attention. As the top notes step aside, the heart reveals ylang-ylang, jasmine, iris, and lily-of-the-valley. The white floral and yellow floral accords sit together here, with iris adding a soft powder that keeps the flowers from feeling heavy. It is a sunny, composed middle that works well in natural light, where the fresh and citrus accords continue to lift the petals rather than letting them settle into something dense. The transition from fruit to flower is smooth, and the fragrance stays on the sweeter side of floral without becoming cloying.
The drydown is where Oudh Al Fakhama spends most of its time. Raspberry brings a fruity sweetness into the base, while sandalwood and ambergris provide the woody and amber accords that ground the blend. The raspberry is noticeable and persistent, which makes the composition lean firmly into sweet territory. The sandalwood offers a smooth texture, and the ambergris adds a warm, resinous depth that supports the fruit and the powder from the heart. The limitation here is the balance. The raspberry can dominate the wood, so the base reads more like a sweet fruity musk than a true woody fragrance. Anyone who prefers a dry, restrained sandalwood will find the raspberry too prominent for the rest of the structure.
