Burberry Women opens with a full basket of fruit: peach, apricot, pear, black currant and green apple layered together, none of them taking the clear lead. It comes across sharp and a little tart before anything else appears, closer to fruit skin than fruit juice.
Michel Almairac built the heart around sandalwood, jasmine and moss, and the fragrance shifts here from fruity into something rounder and greener. The moss in particular gives it an earthy undertone the fruit alone never suggested, grounding what could otherwise have floated off as simple fruit soap.
Vanilla, cedar and musk close it out, soft and warm without ever getting heavy. Longevity here is average, and the sillage stays as a small halo, present but not demanding, which fits a fragrance built for daytime wear rather than an evening entrance. Spring through winter all work for it, though it leans hardest into fall, when the fruit sits less like summer produce and more like something closer to spice.
It works best in daytime settings, at a desk or running errands, where fruit and wood without a heavy hand feels appropriate. Restraint, not spectacle, is the entire premise of the composition.
