Character
Almond and sugar dominate early, candied and bright, with lime cutting through and adding a sour snap against all that sugar. Lime never fully disappears either, resurfacing in flashes even once the candied notes take hold. Dragée, that sugared-almond candy note, shows up almost immediately in the heart too, so the transition from top to heart barely registers as a change at all.
Peony adds the only real floral presence, soft and a little powdery against all that sugar, while pear keeps a thread of actual fruit running underneath the candy. By the base, vanilla, tonka bean and mahogany turn the sweetness warmer and slightly woody, amber rounding out the edges without adding more sugar on top.
Staying power here is middling rather than remarkable, and the sillage sits as a small halo close around the wearer, easy to lose track of past that. Fall is clearly where it performs best, with winter a reasonable second choice and summer largely absent from its range. It is a fragrance built almost entirely on almond and sugar, and everything else is there to keep that pairing from turning one-note.
