Our take

Sunlight falls through tall windows onto a stone floor. Parco Palladiano XII: Quercia sits in the air as pepper and pink pepper arrive first, bright and lightly biting. Labdanum and cardamom follow, warm and resinous, curling through the room without haste. Oak and frankincense ground the space, joined by oakmoss, cashmere wood, patchouli, and benzoin. The scent feels close and steady, never stretching far, and it stays put through the morning without thinning out or demanding attention from the next room.

The room smells of wood and amber, a mix that is earthy, musky, aromatic, and balsamic. It is not a loud presence. It moves with you as you walk between shelves, a warm spicy and fresh spicy trace that feels natural rather than polished. The cashmere wood and benzoin soften the sharper edges of the pepper, while the oak and oakmoss give the air a mossy depth. It suits someone who enjoys a woody scent that does not try to fill the entire space or announce itself at the door.

Quentin Bisch composed this 2018 fragrance for Bottega Veneta as a unisex release. It is pleasant in daylight, but the blend does not evolve much once the pepper settles. The frankincense and patchouli hold their place, and the resinous heart stays linear. If you hope for a shifting story across the hours, this one stays where it begins.
