Our take

Falcon Leather opens with a sharp, almost medicinal saffron and a sticky, honeyed labdanum that immediately signals something dark and obsessive. The heart is all birch tar, that smokey, tarry note you might smell near a campfire where someone tossed an old leather jacket into the flames, and it clings with a stubborn, metallic edge. As it dries down, the oud and benzoin smooth out the roughness into a resinous, animalic warmth, but the leather never fully tames. The whole thing feels like a worn saddle left out in the rain, then brought inside and hung too close to a wood stove. It’s a niche composition through and through, leaning heavy and smoky rather than fresh or sweet, with a synthetic bite that keeps it from feeling like a natural oil blend.

The longevity is solid, easily lasting a full workday, but the sillage is more of a close whisper than a room-filling shout. If you want a fragrance that announces itself from across the bar, this isn’t it. It suits someone who prefers their leather tarnished and lived in, not polished and pristine. Skip it if you’re looking for a crowd-pleasing freshie or anything with a gourmand sweetness. This is a fall and winter scent by nature, best worn on a crisp evening when you want your coat to smell like it’s been through something. A bit of a brooder, but one that knows its place.
