Our take

For Ever opens with a jammy smack of blackcurrant syrup, syrupy and dark, tangled with a ripe, almost candied ylang-ylang. A flicker of bergamot cuts through briefly before the whole thing settles into a lush, aquatic floral heart where lotus and orchid feel dewy but synthetic, like a greenhouse bloom under fluorescent light. The base pulls it back to earth with a dry sandalwood, a whisper of incense, and a patchouli that adds a faintly smoky, balsamic anchor. This is a fragrance that wears like a glossy magazine page: visually appealing, sweetly fruity, and polished to a high shine, but with a powdery veil that keeps it from feeling truly alive.

Its character is that of a generous fruit basket left on a warm wooden altar. It feels sweet and fruity first, then turns slightly peppery and powdery, leaning decidedly mainstream rather than niche. At 3.66 for longevity and 3.21 for sillage, it performs competently but never screams for attention. The best use is a carefree daytime spritz in spring or summer when you want a friendly, crowd-pleasing aura. It suits someone who loves gourmand florals but craves a touch of incense to ground the sugar. Skip it if you prefer stark green stems, cold ozonics, or anything with detectable dirt. A pleasant, mass-appeal scent that coasts on its fruity charms, but the base doesn’t quite earn the name For Ever. 😌
