Musk Vernaculaire
Fragrance notes
Character
The courtyard is quiet after the last glass has been cleared. Hay and frangipani drift from the linen shirt of the person leaning against the stone wall, the dried grass note dry and golden against the creamy yellow flower. Ambrette adds a soft, rounded warmth that feels like skin warmed by a lamp, while ylang-ylang deepens the air with a gentle, slightly oily floral weight.
Amyris and benzoin enter as the evening stretches on, the resin smooth and faintly vanilla without turning sweet. Musk builds steadily through the middle and the base, supported by civet that gives the blend a faint, lived-in animal edge. Amber settles everything into a powdery, amber-hued haze that stays close to the body, present to the person wearing it and to anyone standing near, never reaching past that intimate circle.
The scent does not rush to announce itself, yet it remains through the long hours without thinning or fading. It suits those comfortable with a musky, animalic character that feels personal and slightly old-fashioned. Green and herbal touches keep the floral heart from becoming too soft. The air finally rests on musk, civet, and amber.
